Preparing a wallet for KIA Pay

KIA Pay connects through WalletConnect. If you do not already have a compatible crypto wallet, install one from the wallet provider's official website or official mobile app store listing. Never install a wallet from an unknown link sent through chat or social media.

1. Create or open your wallet

Follow the wallet provider's official setup process. Protect the wallet recovery phrase and never share it with KIA Pay, a merchant, or support staff.

2. Select Polygon

Add or select the Polygon network in your wallet before making a KIA payment.

3. Prepare KIA and POL

The wallet needs enough KIA for the payment and a small amount of POL for Polygon network gas.

Security: KIA Pay will never ask for your wallet recovery phrase, private key, or wallet password.

Customer payment guide

Follow these steps when a merchant asks you to pay a KIA Pay payment request.

01
Open the payment request

For a remote payment, open the secure KIA Pay payment link sent by the merchant, including a link received by email. For an in-person payment, open or scan the payment request presented by the merchant.

02
Connect your wallet

Select Connect Wallet and use a WalletConnect-compatible wallet. On mobile, choose your installed wallet. On desktop, scan the WalletConnect QR code from your wallet app.

03
Check Polygon and your KIA balance

KIA Pay uses the Polygon network. Confirm that your wallet is on Polygon and that it contains enough KIA for the payment.

04
Review the payment details

Verify the merchant wallet, KIA amount, and Polygon network before approving the payment.

05
Approve the payment in your wallet

Select Pay with KIA, review the wallet approval request, and confirm the blockchain transaction.

06
Wait for confirmation

KIA Pay verifies the Polygon transaction automatically. When verification is complete, the payment page changes to Payment Completed.

Merchant guide

The merchant dashboard handles payment requests, status, receipts, reporting, and account settings.

01
Register your business

Create a KIA Pay merchant application, provide your business information and Polygon destination wallet, and submit the required Merchant Service Agreement. KIA Pay emails you when the application is received and places it under review.

02
Receive approval and your Business ID

If the application is approved, KIA Pay assigns the business an official KIA-PAY Business ID and sends the approval email with the secure account-activation link. Approval alone does not make the business publicly active yet.

03
Activate your merchant account

Use the secure activation link to create your merchant username and password. After activation is completed, the business becomes active in the KIA-PAY Public Business Registry and the same Business ID can be used for public verification.

04
Create a payment request

Open Payments, create a new request, and choose KIA or a supported fiat display currency. For fiat requests, KIA Pay converts the total to a locked KIA amount. You can also apply an optional tax type or custom tax and add a customer note.

05
Choose in-person or remote payment

For an in-person payment, present the payment request to the customer at checkout. For a remote payment, send the secure payment link to the buyer, including by email. The payment remains identified by its original payment type while it is pending and after it is completed.

06
Monitor payment status

The merchant Payments dashboard checks for status changes automatically, so a remote or in-person request can move to Completed without requiring a manual page refresh. Pending requests can also be adjusted or cancelled.

07
Use receipts, reports, and your certificate

Completed payments can be reviewed with a detailed receipt, printed, downloaded as PDF, emailed, and included in merchant payment reports. Active registered businesses can also download a KIA-PAY Business Certificate containing the official Business ID and a QR code that opens the public verification record. The certificate confirms KIA-PAY registration status; it is not a government license or regulatory certification.

Business verification, classification, and ratings

KIA-PAY gives each approved business a unique Business ID. The business becomes publicly active only after the merchant completes account activation. Once active, the Business ID can be checked on the public verification page and is also displayed on the KIA-PAY Business Certificate.

Public Business ID

The Business ID is created at approval and remains the business's public KIA-PAY registration identifier. Public verification is activated only after account activation is completed.

Verified Ratings & Reviews

Reviews are accepted only when they are tied to a completed KIA-PAY payment with matching payment and receipt verification data. Each completed payment can submit only one review.

Automatic Classification

KIA-PAY evaluates account age, completed payments, lifetime USD payment volume, verified review count, and average verified rating and assigns the highest class whose full requirements are met.

ClassAccount AgeCompleted PaymentsLifetime USD VolumeVerified ReviewsAverage Rating
Registered0 days0$00
Bronze6 months100$5,0000

Platinum24 months500$500,000504.5
Important: A verified review confirms that the reviewer had a matching completed KIA-PAY payment. It does not independently verify the accuracy of the written opinion or the reviewer's real-world identity.

Receipts and blockchain verification

After a payment is completed, KIA Pay records the payment details and the Polygon transaction hash. The transaction can be reviewed independently on PolygonScan. A receipt may also contain optional payer information supplied for the payment record.

Important: Blockchain verification confirms the on-chain transaction data. It does not independently verify the payer's real-world identity or certify optional payer information entered on the payment page.

Troubleshooting

Wallet does not open

Close any old WalletConnect prompt, refresh the payment page, and select Connect Wallet again.

Wrong network

Switch the wallet to Polygon and return to KIA Pay. The payment button remains unavailable until the correct network is active.

Insufficient KIA balance

Use a wallet with enough KIA, add KIA to the current wallet, or ask the merchant to adjust the payment request.

Payment approval was cancelled

No transaction was submitted. Use Try Again to make another payment attempt, or disconnect the wallet.

Payment was submitted but the page is still waiting

Do not submit the payment a second time. KIA Pay includes transaction recovery checks and may need a short time to detect the Polygon transfer.

Need help from the merchant

Ask the merchant to review the Payment ID from their KIA Pay dashboard. The Payment ID identifies the exact payment request.

Frequently asked questions

Does KIA Pay hold my cryptocurrency?

No. KIA Pay is designed as a non-custodial payment platform. The customer approves the transaction from their own wallet and the KIA payment is sent to the merchant's Polygon wallet.

Which network does KIA Pay use?

KIA Pay merchant payments use Polygon. The wallet must be connected to Polygon before a KIA payment can be submitted.

Do I need POL in my wallet?

Polygon transactions normally require a small amount of POL for network gas. Your wallet should have enough POL to approve and broadcast the KIA transfer.

What happens if I reject the payment in my wallet?

No payment is submitted. KIA Pay shows a cancellation message and allows you to try again or disconnect the wallet.

Can a blockchain payment be reversed?

Blockchain transfers are generally irreversible after confirmation. Always verify the destination wallet, amount, and Polygon network before approving a payment.

Why does KIA Pay disconnect the wallet after a completed payment?

KIA Pay ends the payer wallet session after a successful payment so a new connection is required for the next payment.

What is the difference between an in-person and remote payment?

An in-person payment is intended for a customer who is paying while interacting directly with the merchant. A remote payment is intended for a buyer who receives a secure KIA Pay payment link and completes the payment from another location. KIA Pay keeps the payment type associated with the request, including after the payment is completed.

How does a remote payment request work?

The merchant creates the payment request as Remote and can send its secure KIA Pay link to the buyer, including by email. When the buyer opens that remote link, the payment page focuses on completing that specific request rather than asking the buyer to choose between remote and in-person payment.

Does the merchant need to refresh the Payments dashboard after a customer pays?

Normally no. The merchant Payments dashboard checks for payment status changes automatically. When KIA Pay detects that a pending request has been completed, the dashboard can update the payment status without requiring the merchant to manually refresh the page.

What if the payment request expires?

An expired request can no longer be paid. Ask the merchant to create a new payment request.

Where can I verify a payment?

Completed payments include a PolygonScan transaction link. The transaction hash lets you independently review the on-chain Polygon transfer, including the transaction status and wallet addresses.

What does receipt or blockchain verification verify?

Blockchain verification links the KIA Pay payment record to the completed Polygon transaction. The transaction hash can be checked on PolygonScan, and KIA Pay may also store a receipt hash for the payment record. This verification does not verify a payer's real-world identity or prove that optional payer information is government-verified.

Can a merchant create a payment request in currencies other than KIA?

Yes. KIA Pay supports KIA and multiple fiat display currencies, including AZN (Azerbaijani manat). When a fiat currency is selected, KIA Pay converts the payment total to a KIA amount and locks that KIA amount when the payment request is created. The blockchain payment itself is still made in KIA on Polygon.

Why might KIA Pay's currency conversion differ from my bank or another service?

Exchange rates can vary between providers and can change over time. KIA Pay uses the conversion rate available when the payment request is created and locks the resulting KIA amount for that request.

Can tax be added to a payment request?

Yes. Tax is optional. A merchant can select an available tax type or use the custom option when appropriate. The merchant is responsible for choosing the correct tax treatment, name, and rate for the applicable jurisdiction and transaction.

What is Payer Information on a receipt?

Payer Information is optional information that can be attached to the payment record, such as name, email, phone, address, or limited ID information. The detailed merchant receipt keeps a Payer Information section for consistency; if information was not supplied for a payment, the corresponding fields may display a dash. Payer information is separate from blockchain verification and should not be treated as independently verified identity information.

What receipt options are available after payment?

A completed payment can provide a detailed receipt with the payment breakdown, payer-information fields, Payment ID, network, timestamps, customer and merchant wallets, transaction hash, and receipt hash when available. The receipt can be downloaded as PDF, printed, or emailed.

What is the KIA Pay Receipt Center?

The Receipt Center on the KIA Pay home page provides a central place to access and verify eligible completed payment receipts. Depending on the receipt access method, KIA Pay may require email verification before displaying protected receipt information.

How do I open the Receipt Center?

Select Receipt Center from the KIA Pay home page, Help page, or Contact page. The link takes you directly to the Receipt Center section on the home page so you do not need to search for it manually.

What is a KIA-PAY Business ID?

A KIA-PAY Business ID is the unique public registration identifier assigned when a merchant application is approved. The same Business ID remains associated with the business and is used for public business verification, the merchant dashboard, and the KIA-PAY Business Certificate.

Does approval immediately make a business publicly active?

No. Approval creates the Business ID and sends the merchant the secure account-activation link, but the public business registration remains pending until the merchant completes account activation by creating the merchant username and password. After activation, the public profile becomes active and the Business ID can be verified publicly.

How can someone verify a KIA-PAY business?

Use the public KIA-PAY Business Verification page and enter the official Business ID, or scan the QR code on the business certificate. The public record can show registration status, business classification, verified customer rating, and verified reviews when available.

What does the KIA-PAY Business Certificate confirm?

The certificate confirms that the business has an active KIA-PAY registration and displays the official Business ID, registration information, issue date, and a QR code for public verification. It is a KIA-PAY platform certificate and should not be interpreted as a government-issued business license, regulatory approval, or legal certification.

What are KIA-PAY business classifications?

Active registered businesses are evaluated using five classes: Registered, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Classification is based on account age, completed KIA-PAY payments, lifetime USD payment volume, verified review count, and average verified rating where required. The system assigns the highest class for which all requirements are met.

What are the current business classification requirements?

Registered has no additional minimums. Bronze requires at least 6 months (180 days), 100 completed payments, and $5,000 lifetime USD payment volume. Silver requires 12 months (365 days), 200 completed payments, $25,000 lifetime USD payment volume, 5 verified reviews, and a 4.0 average rating. Gold requires 18 months (548 days), 350 completed payments, $100,000 lifetime USD payment volume, 20 verified reviews, and a 4.3 average rating. Platinum requires 24 months (730 days), 500 completed payments, $500,000 lifetime USD payment volume, 50 verified reviews, and a 4.5 average rating.

Can a business classification change over time?

Yes. KIA-PAY re-evaluates classification using the current qualifying metrics. Because the assigned class depends on the business meeting every requirement for that class, the classification can change when the underlying metrics or verified rating change.

Who can leave a business rating or review?

Only someone with a verified completed KIA-PAY payment can submit a review for that payment. The Payment ID and receipt verification token must match the completed payment before the review is accepted.

How does the KIA-PAY rating system work?

A verified completed payment can submit one rating from 1 to 5 whole stars and an optional written review of up to 1,000 characters. Only one review is allowed per payment. Approved reviews are included in the public verified review count and average rating, and a new verified review automatically triggers a business-classification re-evaluation.

What does a verified review mean?

Verified means the review is linked to a completed KIA-PAY payment whose Payment ID and receipt verification token were successfully matched. It does not mean KIA-PAY independently verified the truth of the review text or the reviewer's real-world identity.

Are reviews moderated before they appear?

Under the current KIA-PAY review logic, an eligible review linked to a verified completed payment is published with approved status immediately. KIA-PAY still retains review-status fields in the system so review handling can be expanded later if needed.

What if a merchant loses access to the authenticator app?

Use the 2FA recovery option from the merchant sign-in flow. KIA Pay verifies access to the registered merchant email address and submits the recovery request for administrator review. The existing 2FA remains active until the reset is approved. After an approved reset, active merchant sessions are revoked and the next sign-in requires a new mandatory 2FA setup.
